Serco To The Rescue

Serco are a facilities management company and part of their remit is the provision of Rescue and Fire Fighting Services at Airbus Filton in Bristol. They also provide Industrial and fire safety services. They have supported GAFSIP since inception of the project with donations of airfield and domestic water tenders in addition to the training of airfield crews in The Gambia.

Serco Integrated Services have kindly donated the 5 sets of basic lifeguard equipment that was desperately needed to equip the watchtowers in The Gambia.

The beach lifeguards will provide a water rescue service to swimmers on the most popular beach’s in The Gambia, looking after the welfare of tourists and local children in particular.

This essential equipment was loaded into a 40’ container along with 15 tons of educational, health and fire equipment from Yate Fire Station. The container will leave Southampton on Monday for The Gambia.
