This collection of pictures captures the some of results of GAFSIP’s activities over the past 14 years:

Banjul (capital) and HQ of The Gambia Fire and Ambulance Service. Originally built in 1943.


Banjul (etc.) after refurbishment opened by vice president Isatou Njie-Sadie in February 2005.


Serrekunda (Western Division) opened 1994. Covers most highly populated area of the South Bank.


Kotu (Western division) opened 1999.


Brikama (Western Division) opened 1993.


Kanilai (Western Division) This is The President's home village opened 2005.


Soma (Lower River Division) opened 2003.


Bansang (Central River Division) opened 2003.


Basse (Upper river division) opened 1998.


Barra (North Bank division) opened 1999.


Loading container  January 2005. First loaded was 150  educational computers donated by The Ridings High School in Winterbourne South Gloucestershire.


40 foot container fully loaded with 16 tonnes of books and other educational equipment,


Chairs donated by St.Michael's C of E Primary school to Bakau New Town Primary School.


Unloading a donated Dodge 50 series van filled with books and other Educational equipment donated by The Church in Wales Diocese of Llandaff and given to St.Charles Lwanga Lower Basic School.


This room will be the library once all the donated items have been sorted and distributed.

Darsilami lower school is on the north bank and was given an amount of books which the headteacher hopes to house in this building - which will be the library when they can afford the funds to build the roof.

2005 Training at Banjul International Airport.


Training at Bakau Fire Station (Training centre) opened in 1984.


Sea Rescue training at The Bakau sea rescue station opened 1995. The lifeboat pictured was one of three donated in 2004.


Claire Hutchings, GAFSIP secretary formally handing over donated books and twinning information to the headteacher of St.Charles Lwanga lower basic school in Fagikunda. To her right is Ndey Bakurin, The Gambia education co-ordinator for GAFSIP.
