The Ultimate Challenge

The Rally

Congratulations to Ff Sean Heighton of Brislington Fire Station and Simon Vann Jones who successfully delivered the Land Rover to The Gambia Fire and Ambulance Service on 12th January 2007 after leaving Temple Back on Boxing Day. Their journey was not without event but ultimately, a magnificent achievement – travelling for 19 days across some of the most hostile terrain and environments imaginable.

Jerry’s Challenge

Jerry completed his challenge by cycling, running and canoeing the length of The Gambia.
An incredible endurance challenge achieved in two weeks covering around three hundred miles.
On the cooler days it was 30 degrees but as he moved into the provinces temperatures rose to 40+
The physical and mental demands in these conditions cannot be overstated.

Congratulations and thank you to these intrepid 3!

A tremendous achievement and contribution to GAFSIP by raising £5000 which will be used this year towards the shipping of more fire vehicles and education/ health materials.
